Taroudant The Mother of Marrakch :

Town and province of the Region Souss-Massa-Draa, east of Agadir, Taroudant was a trading post on the way of caravans coming from Saharan provinces (Ghana, Sudan, Mali). Thanks to its gold and silver mines, the town developed remarkably in the 11th c and it had indeed a great influence over Moroccan civilization. Surrounded by red ochre walls, Taroudant is one of the most elegant towns in the south. Taroudant's rich bazaars reflect a strong artcraft tradition.

Taroudante Wall :

Taroudant Wall Wall of Taroudant, was built in the 16th century, and is 7.5 kilometers long. Unlike most cities, such as Fez, Meknes, and Marrakesh, Taroudant does not have a real ville nouvelle. Most of all the city is contained within the wall that was built to protect the city from any possible attacks. Today it remains as a precious historical monument.

Berber Market (Souk) :

This Souk is known of its so many different spices (paprika, cumin, cinnamon, pepper, Saffron...). There are also women who sell Morocco’s best henna, used for the creation of temporary tattoos during the wedding season and during other festivities, will offer to sell you the raw ingredients or give you a henna tattoo right on the spot.

City Square :

City square, called " Assarag", that is a word from Bereber language, and it means the big place or big area. one minute away on foot from there. There are restaurants and cafes on the sides of this square.go for a drink (mint tea mostly) with my other people in a couple of cafés there that have a terrace overlooking the square.

Olive Oil :

That is a very old machine that was used to smash olives to get oil out of them. Taroudant is well known of its high quality and natural Olive and Argan oil .
